Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

From 15th - 21st May, 2023 marks Mental Health Awareness Week and the focus this year is on anxiety.

I'm sure most people reading this will have experienced loneliness at certain times in their lives for one reason or another - I know 100% that I've experienced it on quite a few occasions and for me, it has been accompanied with fear and sadness.

Thankfully, and like many others, I have been able to get over those feelings and bounce back by implementing different coping strategies.

For some people though, the feeling is severe and lingers, ultimately having an impact on their mental health.

This year Mental Health Foundation is raising awareness of the impact of loneliness on mental health and various coping strategies for improving mental health.

I know we're all so very different and have our own unique reasons for feeling lonely. I personally find that keeping connected with friends and loved ones, staying busy and active, walking outdoors and keeping my mind entertained massively help me keep feelings of loneliness at bay.

It's about awareness, catching the feelings at the right time and being able to do something about them before there is an impact on mental health..... and don't suffer in silence.

Much love,

Jo
